Anxiety and OCD Therapy for Women and Moms Who Feel Overwhelmed

When Your life feels controlled by impossible expectations, constant stress, and the pressure to do it all, therapy can help!

Do you constantly feel overwhelmed, like there’s always more to do and it’s never enough? Do you find yourself unable to rest or simply just be? Are you struggling with perfectionism or people-pleasing? What about feeling chained to routines and compulsions, and distressed when they get interrupted?

I get it! There is endless pressure and expectation put on women and moms. This pressure often fuels or worsens anxiety and OCD. In a society where women are expected to “do it all,” never show anger, and only “earn” rest, it’s no wonder so many of us struggle.

First off, let me say—I get it. For many women, it’s hard to even recognize there’s a problem, let alone realize there might be a solution. I’ve worked with countless women and moms, helping them untangle the thoughts swirling in their minds—the ones that lead to fear, worry, and self-doubt. Together, we challenge those thoughts, test whether they’re actually true, and gently face fears and triggers with support—so you can live your life instead of letting worry control it.

I also help identify where boundaries are missing or people-pleasing has taken over. So often, stress and anxiety come from impossible expectations—many of which we place on ourselves. I teach women how to release those expectations in ways that feel freeing and empowering.

We also explore activities that bring joy and fulfillment—giving you a break from stress and boosting your mood. This can include mindfulness practices and relaxation strategies. I teach simple techniques to stay grounded in the present moment, even when life feels overwhelming.

And for mamas whose anxiety is tangled up with guilt or parenting worries, I help strengthen parenting skills, build confidence, and provide tools to navigate tricky situations. Because I know trauma and childhood often shape these struggles, we’ll also create a safe space to process your story and heal from the past.

  • Ideally, therapy starts weekly and decreases as the relationship between you and your therapist develops and goals are met. Of course, I will meet you where you are and create a personalized schedule that works best for you.

  • This is an excellent question. Therapy lasts on average 6 months to a year. However, it depends on goals being worked on, level of commitment and effort spent in and outside of the therapy office. Some clients choose to stay in therapy for as short a period as possible, meeting their initial goals and ending the service. Others stay in therapy for years choosing to work on new goals as progress is made.

  • I get it. Life often feels hard and overwhelming, and you may wonder, ‘Do I really need therapy?’ Here’s the thing—I don’t believe everyone has a mental health diagnosis or needs therapy to function, but I do believe everyone can benefit from it. Think of therapy as your time—the space to focus on yourself and your needs, without guilt.

  • If your child is struggling, you might wonder if focusing on your own therapy is selfish. It’s not. Therapy for moms isn’t just about you—it’s about creating the strength and stability to better support your child. When you care for yourself, you’re also caring for them.need.

Now imagine feeling…

  • empowered to put yourself first, guilt free;

  • confident in your decisions and actions including in setting boundaries;

  • secure in your choices;

  • calm and regulated when confronted by stressors such as meltdowns or unrealistic expectations;

  • free from your fears, able to live the life you dream of.

You are so much stronger than you know.
